About Isabel

We are often disconnected from ourselves, having feelings that seem to come out of no-where and reactions we don’t understand. I strive to offer a safe space to my clients that promotes self-connection. In this non-judgmental, warm, vast space, clients can learn to look inside themselves with a friendly and curious attitude. They can learn to understand their reactions, come to terms with their past, and sense what their next best steps are. As we stop fearing our inner world, it starts being a source of guidance and strength.

I like working at a deep level. I am not content with improving the presenting symptoms but like to get to the root of the problem. I take into account trauma in the family of origin, systemic issues, attachment theory, and my own physical response, to get a sense of what is really going on for the client, and as a guide to the best way to treat them.


My approach to therapy is flexible and person centered. It is founded on experiential practices such as Mindfulness and Focusing-oriented Therapy, which focuses on the person’s bodily sensed experience. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. I have also received extensive training in Non-Violent Communication, a way of communicating that promotes connection and improves relationships.


During sessions, I facilitate self-exploration, may provide psychoeducation (research findings on a particular topic or theoretical explanations for a behaviour) and may suggest strategies that could support you in reaching your goals.
